Cubadisco International Fair, founded in 1997 and organized by the Cuban Music Institute, is the most important event of the Cuban Music Industry, with special performances by Cuban and foreign artists, tributes and to presentations of national and international awards to important personalities.
A group of 50 Cuban artists, known as La Brigada Marta Machado, which includes musicians, actors, painters, and comedians, arrived in Haiti in March, ADN reported. The group will put on cultural events for earthquake victims in addition to doctors and specialists helping in the recovery efforts. The group plans to remain in Haiti and "promote happiness" as long as is deemed necessary. Among those included in the delegation is well-known visual artist Alexis Leyva Kcho, who originally helped organize the brigade in 2008 in response to devastating hurricanes in Cuba, Prensa Latina reported.

Nearly 300 people visited the photography exhibition ‘Celebrating Cuba – 50 years of revolution' at Bolivar Hall, London, 2nd – 4th March.
"The International Book Fair allows for exchanges between creators and the public, and for me that is the most important aspect of the event," said renowned Canadian writer Margaret Atwood, who was invited to this year's book fair.
"The Little Train," the first 3D cartoon of the trilogy Towards Diversity had its premier on Cuban television in February.

'Three Rounds with Alcides Sagarra', the name of the book by Cuban journalist Marcos Alfonso on the life of the living legend that helped shape the best boxing school ever to compete at the Olympic Games, will be launched this month in Havana.
Writer Nadine Gordimer, winner of the 1991 Nobel Literature Prize,
will participate in Havana's International Book fair, announced Cubadebate web site.
Cuban jazz pianist Chucho Valdes won the Best Latin Jazz Album award during the 2010 Grammy awards ceremony that took place on Sunday night in Los Angeles.
