The multidisciplinary event, which is directed to the development of artists and activists interested in hip hop culture, is also focused on the promotion of the artistic vision of hip hop. It is also interested in offering interaction and learning spaces which propose working strategies for the participating projects.
The 2010 Cuban Hip Hop Symposium will gather artists and guests from various countries and provinces in the Isle. It will include theoretic sessions in the mornings and the performances of groups during the afternoons and nights. Brebaje Man, Hermanos de Causa, Las Positivas, Doble Filo, Las Krudas and Danay will be among the national groups attending the event. Among the foreign guests there will be Deheshi Empire (Canadá), Lou Piensa (Canadá) and Poetas por la Paz (Estados Unidos).
The Symposium will also include workshops, relevant among them the Hip Hop Theater Workshop and another one devoted to free style rhymes. The event will be the space for the projection of audiovisual materials which will be debated later on.
