The Association of Cuban Bartenders (ACC) reported that at the end of August, professional bartenders will try to create the largest Cuba Libre cocktail in the world.
It will take place on August 26, during the Pan American Cocktail Rally IBA 2018, which will take place at the Hotel Tryp Habana Libre in Havana.
Cuba will seek to achieve a Guinness record during the Rally which is a competition that is very important for the world of cocktails and tourism, especially for Latin America.
The head of Havana Libre bars, Sergio Serrano, leads the largest Cuba Libre initiative and certified that the company Havana Club International S.A. will be responsible for the glass of a thousand litres, in addition to providing rum.
The company Los Portales S.A., will provide the cola. The cocktail will be made in a cone-shaped glass about two meters high, especially created for the record.
It will take place in the Las Cañitas bar, where a group of recognized Cuban bartenders will participate, and winners of international and national cocktails competitions.
Serrano added that the initiative will use 18 boxes of Havana Club 3 Year rum, depending on the ice cubes needed, along with a large amount of cola.
The directors of the International Bartenders Association (IBA), competitors, participants and guests, as well as the historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal, will all be present.
The organizers consider that Cuba Libre, together with Mojito and Daiquiri, are amongst the 10 most famous Cuban drinks on the planet.
