Probably the most joyous show we promoted last year was Gente de Zona's UK debut at a packed Troxy. Their irresistible fusion of reggaeton, timba and other Cuban music genres was delivered by a big band with exuberance and power.
Since then Gente de Zona has gone from strength to strength with the single Si no Vuelves and their collaboration with Jennifer Lopez with one of the biggest hits of last summer on Ni Tu, Ni Yo.
Their sound first became known in Cuba, where the group formed in Havana in 2000, and began to storm the Latin charts. As featured performers on Enrique Iglesias' 2014 song of the year Bailando, GDZ's appeal was clear – the video has had almost two billion views on YouTube. Bailando was the longest running number one ever on the Billboard chart. GDZ sealed their chart success in 2015 with La Gozadera and Traidora, both in collaboration with Marc Anthony and in 2016 they had a hit single Más Macarena in collaboration with Los Del Río.
