The event begins in the central province of Cienfuegos, where it will tour until the 6th March. It will then move on to the western provinces of Pinar del Rio and Matanzas (March 9 to 13) and will be in Mayabeque and Ciego de Avila provinces from 16th March to the 20th.
Artemisa and the Island of Youth will host the cultural event from April 20th to the 24th. Meanwhile, according to the program of the Cuban Book Institute, the fair will also travel to the eastern provinces.
The Havana event was housed at the San Carlos de La Cabaña fortress, where book launches, exchanges between foreign and local authors, and meetings between writers and readers were held. Sales reached 234,246 volumes and more than 345,000 people attended the 10 days of fair (from Feb 11th to 21st).
While in Havana, the most important literary publishing event of this island held a colloquium in honor of the 90th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution – Fidel Castro.
The Eastern Republic of Uruguay, is the guest country of the fair, which has been dedicated to local writers, Lina de Feria and Rogelio Martinez Fure (2015 National Literature Prize).
