La Gozadera: Gente de Zona win best music video in Cuban Lucas Awards

The Puerto Rican-Cuban mix swept this edition's competition to take home the most popular award and that to the better reggaeton and timbaton video music for a clip that has gone around the world, in which Latin America is honored.

Happy to be awarded in his country, singer Randy Malcom, representing Gente de Zona, gave infinite thanks for the support of his countrymen. The most international filmmaker of the island, Alejandro Perez, director of this video, also expressed his delight after winning in several categories and with several proposals, among them the video clip "Let me be your lover" in the category of pop, by Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull.

Although Iglesias could not attend the event, he sent a message to the Cuban public, in which he thanked for the award.

About 100 video clips competed in 30 categories this year.

The ceremony, in which new young singers and veteran figures participated, closed in style with a tribute to late musician, Juan Formell, in charge of the orchestra he founded and directed until the last day of his life, Los Van Van, along with La Colmenita, a Cuban children's theater company, which raised audience from the seats.
