Winners at the CubaDisco Awards 2014

In this excellent album, López-Nussa assumes a trio format with Enrique Plá in the drums and Gastón Joya in the bass-also awarded in the Opera Prima category. We can notice a flirting between sacred and "popular" music in the album, an element that distinguishes it from the rest of the productions presented to the competition.

El tres y el cuatro, by Pancho Amat y su Cabildo del Son, and Ángel Martínez and Ensemble 4×4, Concierto antológico, by Santiago Feliú, Te doy una canción, by Augusto Enríquez, Me dicen Cuba, by Emilio Vega, Volcán, by Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and Colección 30 años, by Liuba Maria Hevia, won the Special Cubadisco Award.

During the ceremony that took place at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, the jury also granted the Extraordinary Award to Interpretative Excellency to Beatriz Márquez for the DVD Espontáneamente (ProduccionesAbdala), who also won in the category Live Song. Siempre habrá Van Van, an audiovisual material by Producciones Abdala that presents a concert by La Colmenita Children Theater Company playing songs by the famous orchestra, won the Special Extraordinary Cubadisco 2014 Award, dedicated to the memory of maestro Juan Formell.

Jorge Rodriguez, expert in the record rescue at EGREM's archives, received the 'To the Producer' Award for his lifetime work. The 'To the Composer' award was given to the album Toni Pinelli: Mis canciones-by several authors.

In the Popular Dance Music category won the album Respeto pa' los mayores, by AdalbertoÁlvarez y su son. Menos mal, by Idania Valdás, was the album distinguished in the Song category; Dolor con amor se cura, by Kelvis Ochoa, in Contemporary Song category and Libre, by Telmaris in the Hip Hop category.

Mundo paripé by Inti Santana won in Trova category. De todos los colores y también verde, by Aldo López-Gavilán, was awarded in Instrumental Music category and Without Border, by maestro Chucho Valdes, in Cuban Jazz category.

There were 60 awards granted in the 46 competing categories, as well as 12 international awards. Producciones Colibri won most of them with 30, followed by Bis Music, independent production companies and international record companies, EGREM, Producciones Abdala and ICAIC.
