Featherweight Alexei Guibert got the gold medal with a 12-8 victory over Russian Magomedrashi Dzhabrailov, and light welterweight Kevin Brown defeated Guatemalan Lester Martinez 17-14.
Those were their sixth victory in the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert C omplex and they were materialized differently because Guibert went ahead (2-0) and he was never below in the score (4-4, 6-4), but Brown had to overcome an initial lead of his opponent.
The tournament website said Brown lost the opening round (2-4), later he tied the score while dominating 7-5 in the second one and sealed his triumph with an 8-5 victory in the final round.
Thus Cuba celebrated the two champion possibilities they had and finished the tournament with three medals, adding the bronze one of the flyweight Jorge Luis Cordero.
Cuba’s final standings will be known when the tournament ends, because Russia still has three possibilities of winning gold tonight in the second final.
