These athletes are members of the National Association of the Blind and the Cuban Association of Persons with Physical and Motor Function Limitations, who have won 53 medals in this type of competition, starting from the one held in Barcelona, 1992.
Jose Miguel Chang, of the National Paralympic Commission, said that athletics, swimming, judo, weight lifting, cycling and shooting are among the sport disciplines in which these athletes will compete.
He added that standing out among the members of the delegation are Yunidis Castillo, Omara Duran and Leonardo Diaz, in athletics, as well as judokas Isao Cruz and Felipe Gutierez, winners of medals in important international competitions.
