Danza Contemporanea de Cuba returns to Sadler's Wells as part of a Dance Consortium UK tour following its first critically acclaimed visit in 2010. The programme consists of works which include a rare opportunity to see the stand-out hit of 2010's programme, George Céspedes' Mambo 3XXI, a new piece by award-winning choreographer Itzik Galili and Carmen?! choreographed by the Director of Helsinki Dance Company, Kenneth Kvarnström.

Commissioned by Sadler's Wells, DanceEast and Dance Consortium, George Céspedes' Mambo 3XXI was nominated for both an Olivier Award and a TMA Award in 2010. Itzik Galili has more than 60 choreographic works to his name and has created works for international companies including A Linha Curva for Rambert Dance Company in 2009 which was nominated for 3 Awards in the UK, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, NDT2 and Stuttgart Ballet. Kenneth Kvarnström's Carmen?! is a clever contemporary interpretation featuring Bizet's beautiful music arranged by Rodion Shchedrin.
