Children's writer Nersys Felipe wins Cuban National Literature Award

Jury members voted for Felipe, choosing among 18 contestants, for "the sustained quality of her work for children and youth, anchored in the deepest roots of Cuban culture, but in a dialogue with the best of the genre."

Nersys Felipe has also won the prestigious Casa de las Américas Literary Prize. Her most popular books for children and youth are Cuentos de Guane, Román Elé and Corazón de libélula.
