Cuban Cyclists Win Gold in Pan-American Championship

Gonzalez beat Colombian Lorena Vargas and Mexican Ingrid Drexel in the women's scratch, the website of the Pan-American Cycling Confederation reported.

The third gold medal for Cuba went to the women's team, made up of Yudelmis Dominguez, Gonzalez and Mejias, which defeated the Venezuelan team (Angie Gonzalez, Daniela Garcia, and Lilibeth Chacon) in the chase.

Another Cuban medal-winner was Juan Carlos Arias Perez, who won a bronze in the points race with 30 points.

The Cubans took second place by country on the medals table, with a total of four gold medals, two silvers and three bronzes, following Colombia (8-3-3).
