Book on the World's Best Boxing Trainer Launched in Havana

The readers will enjoy a tour on the life of the only trainer who can brag of having 32 Olympic champions among his pupils, some of them three-time and two-time gold winners at the top sports event, and the founder of the Cuban boxing school, a bastion in the world's amateur sport.

Marcos Alfonso, a well-known Cuban journalist and interviewer, told ACN news agency that this book launching is a dream come true, for the values that Sagarra represents to the Cuban people, and it was a way to honor somebody that has devoted his entire life to make other people better.

This work by Alonso, who has written books on Afro-Cuban religions, politics, and other topics, includes an interview to Sagarra´s brother, as well as the biographies of several of his pupils.

Alonso also announced another book about another Cuban emblematic trainer, this time of the Cuban female volleyball squad, Eugenio George, who from the scratch helped give shape to the best ever team in the sport, three time Olympic champions (1992-1996-2000) Espectaculares Morenas del Caribe
