After being a peddler, street photographer, radio announcer, policeman, and mechanic, Jacinto (Asdrúbal Melendez) decides to become a film projectionist. He aspires to bring cinema experiences to the people of Venezuela.
To get away from the big city, this Jack of all trades decides to transform a truck into a travelling cinema shaped like a whale. Manuel (Alvaro Roche), a brave eleven-year-old orphan offers his help and becomes part of Jacinto’s trip.
Feminist Filmmaking – Saturday 16 November 2024: 6pm
A presentation of films in progress made by women activists in Matanzas and Havana in Cuba, Villanova in Catalunya, Spain and in Glasgow, using low-budget collaborative filmmaking techniques across borders to amplify women’s voices.

March 2016: Havana is getting ready for the arrival of The Rolling Stones for an outdoor free concert. Rita’s son wants to to leave the country to live with his father in Holland, her mother insists that she is dying and, to make matters worse, she is going out with a married man. And then, as the concert is about to begin, Rita runs into a former boyfriend. Is this the beginning of something new for Rita?
