The United States President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities is a White House advisory body on cultural issues and works directly with major agencies related to culture, as well as with other federal agencies and the private sector. Its main areas of focus are arts and humanities education, cultural exchange and cultural industries.

The government of President Barack Obama has encouraged the activities of this Committee and supports the visit to the island.

During their stay in Cuba, the U.S. delegation will hold meetings with the main institutions of the Ministry of Culture, as well as businesses in the sector, with the participation of artists and intellectuals from both countries. Various visits to emblematic cultural sites of the capital are also programmed.

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cuba, in accordance with the interest in advancing the process toward improved relations with the United States, the lifting of the blockade, and the full development of cultural exchange with all peoples of the world, has worked to organize this exchange and particularly, to promote frank and direct dialogue with our institutions.

We appreciate the readiness of the President's Committee on the Arts and the Humanities to exchange with our Ministry, and thus further develop cultural ties between the peoples of Cuba and the United States.
