National Ballet of Cuba is declared National cultural heritage
National Ballet of Cuba with Alicia Alonso
The National Ballet of Cuba and its repertoire, its archive of images, as well as objects, documents of any type and correspondence related to the life and work of this institution and its general director, the prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso, have been declared Cultural Patrimony of the Nation, according to Resolution No. 31 of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cuba, signed by Minister Abel Prieto, dated June 19, 2018.
This is the recognition of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba (BNC): "as the highest expression of the Cuban school of ballet, which has achieved its own physiognomy where the tradition of theatrical dance merges with the essential features of the National Culture, that this year is celebrating 70 years of founded and since its creation."
