MORE ABOUT MAYKEL BLANCO Y SU SALSA MAYOR LIVE IN CONCERT!
The highly anticipated return to London of one of Cuba's very best bands, Maykel Blanco Y Su Salsa Mayor, is a huge event on the Cuban calendar in the UK. Loved around the world for their exciting brand of Cuban Timba, this outstanding group are at the top of their musical game. Since the release of their first album, Recoge Y Vete, in 2006, they have consistently produced hit after hit of hugely popular, highly danceable & sweetly melodic Cuban dance music. One of the most talented musicians in Cuba today, after playing in various bands, and releasing one very distinctive and interesting album, Ya Llegaron Los Cubanos, with his own group, La Suprema Ley, Maykel took over an existing band, Salsa Mayor, in 2004, renaming it Maykel Blanco Y Su Salsa Mayor. Six thrilling albums later, Maykel and the band consistently tour Europe and South America to huge acclaim, while continuing to develop their deliriously infectious dance music. This London date will include current floor slammers from their 6th, highly acclaimed album 'Que No Me Quiten La Fe' in addition to a delicious selection of the band's big hits from the last 10 years!
Maykel Blanco y Su Salsa Mayor will be performing for one night only in London as part of the AfroCuban Festival weekend 20-22 October. Alexander Abreu y Havana D'Primera - stars of Cuban timba will be performing on Saturday 21 October.
